The Cambria Car Doctor is ASE Certified Master Mechanic Jerry Bodine. Ever since he was a young boy, Jerry was "the mechanical type" -- always taking apart and putting back together anything he could get his hands on. As a teenager, he restored cars for himself and his friends who competed to have the fastest, best running -- and of course -- best looking cars in town.

Jerry got his first job in automotive repair right out of high school where he worked to put himself through college. His studies at Pierce College and College of the Canyons in Southern California included robotics, electronics, auto body and automotive repair.

Jerry found that he excelled at automotive repair when other technicians regularly sought his help with diagnosing drivability problems. As a young mechanic, Jerry learned the value of every automobile, and learned how the right care and knowledge could extend the life and performance of any car or truck.

As Jerry matured with his trade, he took every opportunity to upgrade his skills by working for dealerships and taking advantage of their training programs. He joined professional organizations like the Automotive Service Council and the International Automotive Technician Network. He holds the highest ASE certifications available for automotive mechanics and is a California State Qualified Smog Technician.

Most recently, Jerry has ventured into alternative fuels and has converted many diesel engines to run on waste vegetable oil.

Jerry founded Cambria Car Doctor in early 2009 when he realized that far too many SLO County North Coast residents felt they couldn't trust the information they were getting from the people they hired to work on their vehicles.
